our mission

we want you to go from not knowing where your food comes from to knowing (and caring) about it.

In 2011, Marc, Ethan, Sefi and Annika opened the Lawrence restaurant, across the street from Sparrow, the bar where their partnership had started a year earlier.

The goal was to offer both creative, honest and attentive cuisine, accompanied by quality beers and wines, all in an elegant and relaxed setting, as well as to offer their support for responsible local agriculture. .

In 2014, the team opened Boucherie Lawrence, a few doors north of the restaurant, which works exclusively with small farms where the animals come from and uses the whole animal, from head to tail. Thus, the Butchery offers the community of the neighborhood and elsewhere, easy access to the products carefully chosen by the restaurant. The new address also allowed the production of a wide assortment of charcuterie as well as the possibility of offering a range of pastries and breads made by the restaurant.

  • Sefi Amir-General Manager / Owner

Sefi is a graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Montreal. She left for London to do her master's degree at Central St.Martin's. During her studies, she worked as a waitress (The Narrow, Sparrow) to decide at some point to exchange the financial precariousness of the visual artist for the financial insecurity of a small business owner in Quebec. You can find Sefi at the Butcher's, behind the counter, in the Lawrence room, or, with her sleeves rolled up, in the basement, repairing a water leak! Sefi is also our artist-in-residence and you can see her illustration work on our promotional material.
